IFCMD currently has four Standing
Committees that manage our Programs and activities. Below are brief descriptions of each.
Most of our committee business is
conducted online, to facilitate broader participation.

The IFCMD Bylaws, Policies and
Resolutions Committee conducts an annual review of the IFCMD Bylaws and Policy
Manual to ensure that they continue to adequately and effectively meet the
current needs of the IFCMD and the community it serves. They also coordinate and assist with the
development and formatting of policy for submission to the Executive Board,
receive and consider suggestions for amendment(s) to the Bylaws and the Policy
Manual, and facilitate in the writing of resolutions upon request.

Communications Committee

The IFCMD Communications Committee is
responsible for promoting print and electronic communications for the IFCMD,
developing programs and informational services for the IFCMD and the community,
monitoring local media outlets for articles pertaining to the mission and
purposes of IFCMD, preparing press releases for the IFCMD President to
disseminate upon request and working with all IFCMD bodies to advertise and
promote IFCMD activities to the General Membership and to the general public.
Specific Programs the Committee manages include:
- The
IFCMD Website – The committee is responsible for managing and keeping current
this website.
- The IFCMD List-serves – The committee is responsible for managing the various IFCMD information list-serves.
- The IFCMD Inclusive and Welcoming Ministry and Resource Directory – The committee is responsible for editing, compiling and publishing the directory.

The IFCMD
Finance and Development Committee works with the IFCMD Board and all Standing
Committees to establish an annual budget for the IFCMD and advise the Executive
Board on all financial matters, and works to develop strategies to ensure the
financial integrity of the IFCMD.

Outreach and Education Committee

The IFCMD Outreach and Education
Committee sponsors and promote programs to increase the membership and
diversity of the IFCMD and educational events and programs that promote the
well being of the community.
Specific Programs the Committee manages include:
- The Annual Pride Interfaith Service – The committee coordinates this service which brings together representatives of many faiths and community members seeking to celebrate and learn together.
- The Annual Interfaith Service of Thanksgiving – The committee coordinates this service which brings together representatives of many faiths and community members to give thanks and learn together.
- GLBT Pride Festivals – The committee coordinates IFCMD participation at various Pride Festivals throughout the area.
- Educational Programs – The committee develops and coordinates educational programs, such as the “Forgiveness Conversations” held in March and April 2008, the "Love Conversations" held in February and March 2009, and the Transgender Education Program in September 2008.
